education support professionals
The St. Vrain Valley Education Association (SVVEA) is both a professional association and an advocacy organization. Our mission is to advocate for public educators; support professionalism; and promote public education.
The Association (SVVEA-CEA-NEA) at all three levels is a highly democratic organization governed by its members. The decision-making structure is designed to ensure maximum representation. Members elect colleagues to represent them in all Association matters.
Within SVVEA, the voices of members are clearly heard through two elected representative bodies:
The Representative Council is our Association’s policy-making, legislative body. It is composed of about 70 Association Representatives (AR’s) elected from each school. The Council meets the third Tuesday of each month.
The SVVEA Board of Directors is our Association’s executive body. It is comprised of four executive officers, plus ten members elected at large from the membership. The Board meets the second Tuesday of each month.
